my oh my

June 30, 2008

I found out about the charges made against Anwar Ibrahim via Rocky’s Bru late last night before hitting the bed. The news didn’t really hit me as very serious. Anwar would have to be plain daft to risk everything by sodomising an aide. Most probably a smear campaign to discredit Anwar and the Pakatan Rakyat at a time when the Barisan Nasional are hogging all the negative headlines. Skipped the rest of the articles.

Well apparently it’s quite serious. Anwar is now hiding in the Turkish embassy for protection. Even Hadi Awang was questioned about it in London today. He responded something along the lines of “..our struggle is bigger than any one person. God will see us through. We worried about what will happen after prophet Muhammad was gone. God saw us through that (what more Anwar Ibrahim or Nik Aziz when compared to nabi Muhammad). God will always raise the people he needs”. Actually I kinda liked his answer, but the mistake would obviously be to assume that God’s favour lies with the Pakatan Rakyat/PAS.

And then I saw the pics and read the full reports just now.

Why, Saiful? Is this true? Or were you forced to lie?

I pray you will pull through this episode and emerge stronger and wiser. May the truth prevail.

on trusting god

June 27, 2008

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

- Proverbs 3:5-6

Learning how to put God first before ambition and calling.

I am very thankful for this particular journey. It is humbling to come to realise that I am where I am today only by his grace and not by my own strength or wisdom.
